I'm typing this from my practice room :) Sitting right next to my acoustic kit (not a lot of space in here..) where I have been rehearsing the past few days, the coming week will also be full of practice. I am STOOOOKED for the recording! And granted, there are a bit more nerves at work in comparison with a YouTube Series recording..
Sorry if I haven't been as active on the forum as usual, and if I've been a bit slow with replies.. Practicing and getting the last few stuff organised for the DVD has been a full-time job. After the shoot (when I'm busy with post-production) I'll definitely be much more active, especially when I'm searching for excuses to take some breaks between work ;)
As you can see though, it's hard for me to think and speak about anything else besides the DVD, haha, for obvious reasons :) Aaaah I almost forgot to mention.. I was on a game drive yesterday, one of my friends had his 21st birthday party and some friends went to a game farm. CRAAAZY amounts of fun, we got wickedly close to some lions, leopards, even tigers (which aren't usually found in South Africa..) so it was aaaaaawesome. Just thought I'd throw that in there for the people who think we have lions and elephants walking around in our backyards here in SA ;)
Aaaaanyway, back to work for me. At the moment I'm planning exactly what to say and how to approach the lessons on the DVD, if I don’t have a general guideline of what I want to say, It'll be a 2-hour DVD of me speaking about what the first lesson was supposed to be. Seriously. I don’t shut up.

. As a big "drummer" and drum-fan, I just want to say that I really admire your work!
I think I speak for many, when I say that you give so much to drummers around the world, that wants to learn or even wants to get better... For me you give me "blood on my tooth", you know, I just wanna grap my drumsticks and practice 'till I get as good at you (I know it's hard to, but you know what I mean?)...
... By the way, I showed my brother, (wich also is a BIG music-freak) some of your videos, and he said that i hates when you flip your drumstick in the air and catch them again, 'cause it looks so easy!.. He didn't ment it like, hate hate, you know... Some kind of jalouxi :D haha

dude honestly your stuff is intense. your stuff is such an inspiration to me. in all seriousness you are one of my heroes (your even on my myspace w/ a couple videos by you.) and definantly one of the best drummers i have seen. the white series was an amazing production everything you did i noticed all the cameras have a high quality picture. the lighting is perfect. and the technicalities you pull off are flawless. i know that you probably get alot of these but i got every youtube video you have ever made on my ipod and i am going to be getting all of the new gear thats coming out like the shirts and the DVD and i am so STOKED for the dvd to come out. its going to be intense. but get back to me i would like to talk to you about a few things i got a couple other questions for you. On your video of Hanson, i noticed you said it was the first time you had used the trad grip in a video... I thought i could be a a pest by telling you that you used it in The Awakening back when you started.
Congrats on the awsm rolls in that song! I thought people would comment and laugh at your choice of songs, but truth be told, you take an average song and turn it into and AWESOME song!

i am was really excited to hear about the DVD a few months ago but now im in total awe of eveerything that seems to happening with and around you :D i always love it when some who strives for something (in your case drums) and eventually gets rewarded for all their hard work ( sponsorship, publisity ect.) i just want to say like, um cograts and all that, keep the videos coming :P
