Cobus Potgieter: The DVD
My first ever DVD! Completely self-produced and independently released in 2009, this was my very first experience with teaching and being on camera.
It features lessons, a documentary, a drum duet with a friend of mine, as well as tutorials on recording drums, mixing audio, and filming and editing you own videos.
Iago Pico ft. Cobus Potgieter - Heroes
In 2010 I was invited to Santiago De Compostela in Spain to co-wrote and produce a song with Iago Pico, called Heroes. Pixel Films produced a music video for Heroes which is one of the most incredible things I have been a part of (actors and props and smoke and 4k cameras and everything!). Pixel Films and Iago also helped me film a set of drum cover videos at Pousada Son Studios (which Iago owns and manages), called The Fuego Series.

The Cobus Method
My flagship instructional product. This is by far the most comprehensive and thorough instructional package I have ever been a part of, consisting of 15 DVDs and 5 CDs. It covers absolutely every detail of how I learned how to play drums by ear, and provides many examples and exercises on how to train your ear.
It features tons of lessons including how to write beats, fills, proper technique, learning new songs, how to write with a band, developing speed, basic theory, as well as 15 original play-alongs with multiple audio options.
The Cobus Method was produced in partnership with Jared Falk and the team from Railroad Media/Drumeo, in Abbotsford BC, Canada.
Google Israel: Inspiration Night
In 2011 I was invited to perform at Google's Inspiration Night in Tel Aviv, Israel. I got to play with 2Cellos, Maria Aragon, and Marina Maximilian Blumin during the live event itself, as well as filming a music video in Jerusalem the next day, for our recorded performance from the night before. Incredible experience!

DW Drums: Performance & Concept Series
In 2013 I worked with DW to shoot a video at the Los Angeles House Of Rock, with the video being centered around why I play both the Performance Series and Concept Maple series kits.
It was so cool to work with the people there, and record at such an amazing facility.
Google Africa: Africa Connected
In 2014 I was invited to Nairobi, Kenya to attend and perform at Africa Connected, an event put together by Google Africa. I got to hear incredible success stories of people using Google Services and the Internet to build self-sustaining careers and help those around them. SUCH an inspiring experience!
